Our story
This site is dedicated to Haacke families around the world and all those who have helped make it possible. I hope that over time many people will add their own material to what I have gathered together since 1972. E. Our history
The Haacke name dates back hundreds of years spelled as Haacke although many similar variants exist. There are DNA records available for a number of lines that show connections more than 200 years ago, where DNA has served as nature's church records. The image on the left is George Haacke born 1810 in Markham, Ontario, Canada, twin brother to Henry Haacke and son of John and Hannah (Adams) Haacke who came to Toronto in 1794.
There are some open questions for John Haacke and Hannah Adams.
Where did they go after selling the last of their properties?
Did they live with one of their children? If so who?
No graves or death dates have been found.
Where did John and Hannah get married? In Niagara-on-the-Lake or in New York State somewhere?
Exactly how was Hannah Adams related to Henry Adams of Braintree, MA and John Adams, second President of the USA?
What about the family of Amalia Haacke? How did she end up back in the Syracuse and Rochester area?
How did she meet her husband in Toronto? How is it her children and grandchildren kept in touch with the Hutty family?
Are there any extant records from any of these early family members related to John and Hannah, like a family bible?
